Review on ASUS XG C100C Network Adapter Single by Carlos Damain

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Finally an affordable 10GbE card.

Finally an affordable 10GbE card. I actually replaced the dual port Intel 10GbE with it. The Intel card often overheated, but not this one. There are no issues with Win10 or Linux support, and there are no issues with expected data transfer speeds. This card also supports 2.5/5Gbps speeds and can also connect directly to another 10GbE card. You don't need a 10GbE switch to use it. Also, if you are using CAT 5e/6, I recommend at least CAT 6A. It's the same price but more stable for higher throughput. them direct from Marvell (search for the AQC107 drivers on the Marvell website and you will find both firmware and Windows drivers). This can be applied to all AQC107 based network adapters. The Aquantia AQtion 10G Pro network card uses the same Aquantia AQtion AQC107 chipset. The only slight difference between the cards is the size of the heatsink, so go with what looks best. Under Linux, the driver for this is called atlantic. This driver is added to the Linux kernel by default since version 4.11. This means it is built into Ubuntu 18.04 and later. And for those wondering about sustained transfer speeds/overheating, I tested iperf3 and was able to transfer for at least 10 minutes at a consistent average speed of 9.37 Gbps. .$ iperf3 -c host -t 600Connected to encoder's host, port 5201[ 4] local 192.168.3.244 port 33486 connected to 192.168.3.152 port 5201[ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth Retr Cwnd[ 4] 0.00-1.00 sec 1.09GBytes 9.40 Gbps 488 844 Kbytes [4] 1.00-2.00 s 1.09 GBYTES 9.39 GBIT/sec. 254 1000 KBYTES.
