Finally an affordable 10GbE card.

Finally an affordable 10GbE card. I actually replaced the dual port Intel 10GbE with it. The Intel card often overheated, but not this one. There are no issues with Win10 or Linux support, and there are no issues with expected data transfer speeds. This card also supports 2.5/5Gbps speeds and can also connect directly to another 10GbE card. You don't need a 10GbE switch to use it. Also, if you are using CAT 5e/6, I recommend at least CAT 6A. It's the same price but more stable for higher…

Save some money and buy the Aquantia AQN-107

Overall, this card doesn't appear to be significantly better than the Aquantia AQN-107, which offers similar features and costs $20 less. Both use Aquantia chipsets. If everything works, the ASUS card is great. 10 GBe for $100 is cool though. there is always a but. The ASUS card often falls out and stops working. It can usually be reset using the Windows Network Troubleshooter, but sometimes it says the cable is disconnected and a reboot may be required. That's just not acceptable for…

great map, confusing linux installation (e.g. for a linux noob)

Windows 10 installation went smoothly. Linux (Ubuntu Server 16.04) was a pain. The only way turned out to be via "insmod atlantic.ko", see below for details. Performance so far (PC to PC connection without a switch) has been flawless. I connect over 150 feet of cable and can transfer four hard drives at full speed with no noticeable bottlenecks. Can only recommend the card!----------------------------------------- -- Ubuntu 16.04 Server installation: 1) clean install of Ubuntu 16.04.2) install…

10 GB cheap, with a catch.

If you are having connection problems with this card, check out the possible solution below! I bought two of these cards to fill my growing 10 gigabit network in my house. One for my NAS and one for my media server to save $200 with the Intel T1. I've had good luck with Aquantia chipsets on motherboards in the past, so I wanted to try my luck here (these cards use Aquantia 107 chips). After installing the cards, everything was fine until I pressed speed test. The loading gave an error every…
