Review on 57 6014 FIPK Performance Intake System by Troy Simpson

I have had this air intake on my Xterra for two years now and after repairing it I decided to write a review. I will say it sounds great at higher rpm and the filter to clean is good. In terms of fuel economy or extra power I didn't notice much, maybe a little after 4K. The reason for the two stars is because the thing rattled like crazy. Every pothole or bump in the road and the filter rattles up and down against the intake and fender. The bracket where the intake goes through the airbox doesn't hold it tight enough. It's designed to pick up some vibration from the engine, but it just doesn't work. After finally obtaining a plastic printer, I designed and installed a part that will hold it properly. Overall I'm rather disappointed as I've always trusted K&N.
