All you need to do is screw two screws into the wall 3 1/2" apart and screw them about 2, Allow it to pull out 5cm or so. Hang the mailbox on these two screws. Mark and put the screw in the middle hole for the third screw - this will hold it in place and prevent it from falling off the wall..Metal, not too tighten firmly.Yes, the back will not be flush with the wall but the sides will be.No need to add wood or anything like what others have suggested.That's it!Double the price and the lids were light and saw look like they can bend easily. This lid is nice and sturdy and it feels like it will hold up. Yes it's small but if that's the size you want I think you'll be satisfied , the The only thing I would want would be a postal flag! :(
