Review on NGK (93618) SIKR9A7 Iridium Spark Plug with Laser Technology by Dave Sidhu

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn't expect that a spark plug change would make a huge difference on a 2014 Fiat 500L, but the difference was dramatic!

It was a friend's car and, despite the recommended interval for replacing the candles of 30 thousand, I don't think the frivolous owner changed them even for 110 thousand! Anyway, since NGK's iridium lasers are rated for 100,000 in most cases, I figured they'd be fine at the end of their life; I wasn't expecting much and swapped them out (mine appears to be genuine) and was amazed at how much better the throttle response and power was. I enjoyed poking fun at the 500L and its sluggish DDCT, but it really added a lot more punch to it. I believe the MultiAir/Turbo requirements call for more frequent replacements. When Fiat recommends 30,000 for a 100,000 fork, trust them. I recommend new spark plugs every 30,000.
