It was a friend's car and, despite the recommended interval for replacing the candles of 30 thousand, I don't think the frivolous owner changed them even for 110 thousand! Anyway, since NGK's iridium lasers are rated for 100,000 in most cases, I figured they'd be fine at the end of their life; I wasn't expecting much and swapped them out (mine appears to be genuine) and was amazed at how much better the throttle response and power was. I enjoyed poking fun at the 500L and its sluggish DDCT, but

Just buy them when you have 1.4 darts.

later Do your research. It seems the difference between this and the one that comes with your dart (1.4 in my case) is that the old ones say "Mopar". They are manufactured by NGK and sold to NGK dealers. In short, they are PERFECT at darts. I just replaced mine after developing a bad misfire for over 2k. Factory plug, works perfectly.

These are the exact same candles from the factory. I just installed them at 30K in my 500L and what I pulled out was an NGK SIKR9A7. They showed some wear and signs of sparking between the ceramic insulator and the threaded body. I've never changed this type of spark plugs (special alloy) so quickly, but on this high performance engine, as the manual says, they need to be changed every 30,000. Spacing was set correctly from the factory so I just used an anti-seize and they passed easily. In…
