Benefits: Inexpensive, in a molded case with a cleaning cloth, a disposable pipette and a small screwdriver. The scale is easy to read and captures light well. And its petite size fits well in my tool box. Cons: It's cheap, the eyecup permanently deforms from the molded case, the eyedropper is disposable, a small soft steel screwdriver with a blue, brittle handle that will strip anything you try to use it on. And it's a lot smaller than I expected. Overall I'm happy with the purchase, is it as good as the $300 that was stolen from me? NO. But for the price, as long as it stays accurate, I'm happy with it. Also, I can afford to change it often. Will i buy it again? Yes. As the description says, there is no replacement flip plate or LED light source, so be careful. Also, the hinge of the flip plate has become tight, too tight to "levitate" freely on the sample, so I have to squeeze the flip plate for the optics to not be sure of accuracy this way.
