I often style long hair and have used many different curling irons at different prices. So far this Xtava wand has given me the most bang for my buck. I have long, thin hair so the line between frizz and sting is very thin, but I've had no problem with this wand damaging my hair or my daughter's hair. I'm a bit concerned when I read about some of the catastrophic failures that others have experienced with this wand, so I've been paying extra attention lately. But after 18 months of use I've found that this Xtava gives me the natural waves/curls I love in my hair and at a very reasonable price. BTW, a heat resistant glove is a must and I really appreciate having it. As with any wand or curling iron, it's easy to get burned, but I didn't realize this was more (or less) of an issue than with my other curling irons, straighteners, and wands.
