Tape sticks well and generally seems strong. The fact is, most of these rolls are so thin that the tape can curl even with a cutting board. I've also found that for most modeling masks you're better off using a wide piece of tape, and a piece cut to fit your needs generally blocks the area and works better than lots of thin, small strips of tape.
