I think everything in the kits works very well except for the pan screws that are included. I smashed the heads of three! I am very experienced, have excellent instruments and many patients, so 3 out of 20 failures are bad. My technique was to simply use a 1/4" extension with a torx bit and finger tighten the screws in the correct order. Then, using two fingers on a 1/4" ratchet, gently tighten them in the correct order. I then used a good 1/4" torque wrench set at 40 pounds, which is less than half that of the negotiation spec and had an error.I then went to the exact specs of the trade and got 2 more rejections. All 3 bolts were defective.the same way.The head came loose from the bolt causing the head of the bolt remains hollow.I was able to put a small flat head screwdriver on it and unscrewed them very easily.I replaced them with screws which I took out and they tightened well.I drove the car for 5 days (about 250 miles),have checked the oil pan for leaks NO!Then I compared the torx depth of the cavity on the failed bolts to a few who have held and found that the depth of the failed bolts et wa was 2 mm larger. Greater depth means less common material between the bolt and screw head and therefore less strength. BMW OEM bolts are stainless steel versus plated bolts in this kit I kept all my OEM bolts and if I ever do it again I will put them all back. I STILL RECOMMEND this product as everything else has worked fine with no leaks.
