This little item and my Surface Pro 3 allowed me to use the free room equalizer wizard on the Hometheater Shack website. With this device and software, I was able to create cascading graphs that clearly show where low frequencies were badly affected. It turned out that I had a phasing issue and was able to quickly get back all of my deep bass that I had been missing for a few months. Now I can measure other issues and add room acoustics and get an objective way to measure improvements. There may be more expensive and accurate mics out there, but this little thing did the trick and proves to me that measuring your listening room costs less than $20 for this device. If you're spending $$$ on audiophile gear, you should definitely measure your room to see where you might have room for improvement. Here is my chart before and after analysis.
