This is a hard silicone. I'm allergic to latex so I have to be very careful with baby teethers. This one is safe. You can put it in the freezer to cool and it will stay cold for a while. Not as long as the ones with water, but long enough for my son to enjoy chewing them for a while. The child lies comfortably in the hand. My son is 9 months old and has no problems with it. He even freaks out when he sees it. This is a really cute little dinosaur and a little bit bigger than I expected. I deducted a star because the brushing can be annoying due to the neckline. I've found that the soap tends to stay in the recess and I have to rub it under water a bit to make sure it's completely clean. Otherwise it would easily be a 5-star teether.
