Review on πŸ“€ Review: Samsung BD-H5100 Blu-Ray Disc Player (2014 Model) - Unbiased Evaluation and Comparison by Jack Ford

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Don't bother either. He only worked 6 very noisy months!

I rarely write product reviews unless it's about something exceptionally good or downright horrible. I'm a frequent Revain customer and the service has always been great. This rating in no way reflects Revain. I bought this Blu-ray player after several Sony DVD players (progressive scan and upscaling) didn't work for me. All of these multiple players and this Blu-Ray had excellent customer reviews on Revain, which is why I bought them. I wanted a quiet player for the bedroom after many of my previous ones were incredibly loud. To my disappointment, this player is also very loud. I bought it in September 2014. Last weekend it suddenly stopped working and the DVD I got from the library got stuck in it. The picture was frozen on a flawless DVD, I couldn't even get functions like Play, Stop, Skip, Eject or even Power to work. The car just kept humming loudly and got stuck in the same place. I eventually unplugged the unit and was lucky that the drive tray eventually swung open. If you spend close to $70 on electronics, they will last over six months. It has not given long-term or good service. My first DVD player has worked well for many years. I'm willing to pay more for quality. Why are DVD and now Blu-ray players so disposable? Consumers deserve better and our environment deserves better. My suggestion: keep the warranty information if you make a mistake in purchasing the Samsun BD-H5100 Blu-ray player.
