As other reviewers have said these are quality colors. They cover well when you want something fairly opaque and dissolve well when you're looking for a smooth blur. They also leave no stains, so they can be removed from the paper with a wet brush. In case you're wondering, the metal body is completely black on the outside and white on the inside. This is a great small size and the standard halves fit perfectly. In fact, I like this case better than some of the expensive travel palettes I've tried. Also, the water brushes are shorter than usual and a handy size for easy carrying (especially with the included black velvet pouch). The water brushes don't unscrew like I'm used to, although the instructions on this webpage are pretty clear (if I was paying attention!). The only possible downside I can see is that some of my paint colors appeared to be mislabeled... some were definitely mislabeled (like "Yellow" instead of Aqua)... The colors I received did not exactly match the listing. On closer inspection, I noticed that the choice of color does not match even on the photos. This is only a problem if you need a specific shade (e.g. there are two purples in the list but I only have one). However, the color choices I received are beautiful, consistent and close to the photos. I actually like it better! It has a good range of tones to highlight any subject I can think of. I just gave up trying to match the labels and made up my own names for my sample cards. In short, this is a great purchase!
