Review on Vacmaster VBV1210 12-Gallon 5 Peak HP Shop Vacuum with Blower Attachment - Detachable & Blue by Emmanuel Nguyen

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This isn't ShopWack. but the price is not the same!

I bought two of these units about a month apart. The overall quality is fine and everything has been working well for the past few months. BUT what I noticed about both units is that they don't move much air. With 5 peak HP I would have thought the CFM (Cubic Feet of Air Displacement) would be similar to my ShopVac which they replaced. Here's how I use them. UPDATE 9/27/19 Two year warranty almost expired. I won't use it as I got my money's worth. If I could be confident that buying a more expensive product would provide longer life OR a product with a higher CFM, I would prefer this one. Out of my sight. This is an honest product at a fair price. This is ONLY a 3 star product in my opinion. I set it to suck up sawdust from the router. Like many lumber dealers, I set up my router as a small router and there is a vacuum nozzle on the fence. It does NOT do a very good job compared to my Shopvac. As far as I remember the only difference was that my Shopvac was 16 gallons instead of 12. They both said 5 hp. what I don't remember is CFM on them. Anyway, this one doesn't pick up as much sawdust from the router compared to the Shopvac brand. Of course it was a lot cheaper, and otherwise it does its job well, but it's not suitable as a dust collector for a router. It will always come down to CFM. If this wears off quickly I'll update, but for now. It's okay, it's not great.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
