As with many devices, getting started is extremely easy. You can scan to a text file in seconds. Was great. I use it in virtual USB-COM mode because I want my application to be read by the scanner even when my application on the computer is not in focus. I've found HID mode (the default for almost all barcode scanners, including this one) to work well, but the OS grabs it and owns it. So you can't "listen" to the scanner if your app doesn't have focus. To enable USB Virtual COM mode I had to install an additional driver that I got from the seller. They were very responsive. I spoke to them a lot and they were quick and helpful. The brochure that came with the scanner lists their email address and all the configurations required. I have multiple scanners connected to the same wireless USB port at the same time. To do this, I programmed individual scanners with the codes in the supplied booklet to put a number in front of them. so: 1:abc123def for scanner 1 or 23:abc123def for scanner 23. This way I can tell in my application which scanner was used, no matter how many of them are actively scanning, and all users can work at the same time. We take care of inventory counting, inventory relocation and other product management processes.
