You get addicted to finding endless hooks, thickened cuticles, etc. to work towards. ;-)

As others have said, you must start very carefully with this tool if this is your first time using a tool like this. This includes not only using the scissors to trim or "cut off" the movement, but also when you START the process and simply use the scissors anywhere near or on the nails and/or on the cuticles/skin around place the nails. Remember, it's always better to TOO LITTLE than TOO MUCH cuticles or hard/dry skin around the nail bed. As you use the tool, try to imagine how the women at your local nail salon can do it. how they normally hold their hands and bend their wrists while using it. (I say this because I assume that anyone who buys this tool has probably had a professional manicure/pedicure at some point, albeit not very regularly.) By trying to visualize and imitate how these professional manicurists use such a tool use it will help you to use the tool correctly. Consider this too. when you open the blades of the scissors and start "trimming" or trying to snip off the cuticles or dry, hard skin on the sides of your nails, what . ONCE you feel the blade actually cut something, DO NOT ATTEMPT to go further or deeper into the cuticle or dry nail bed. In other words, as I mentioned above, it's far better to cut too little than too much and possibly injure yourself or cause bleeding. the audio of the clip, then you know you're really editing something. It's always good to wipe the blades of cuticles or skin between each successive cut you make. The more you use the tool, the better you will understand how to use it. ANGLE at which the tool is held, etc. Also remember that you SHOULD NEVER PULL AT THE SAME TIME while cutting. You just want to crop or cut. Because if you instead grab hold of cuticles or dead skin with scissors and try to PULL rather than cut/cut off, you can really hurt yourself. Start slow. Start small until you feel it. You can get addicted to it just like me. Check your nails constantly for dry skin around the nail or thick cuticles that need to be removed. I like to use this tool in combination with a metal cuticle pusher. After the shower, while my cuticles are soft and damp, I first push the cuticles back with a metal cuticle pusher. Then when my nails are dry I'll use cuticle scissors.
