I purchased these pants for a Faire costume, after the "authentic" pants I'd ordered failed to fit over my calves. I'm a runner, and my calves are almost as thick around as my thighs. As such, it's sometimes hard to find pants that fit. These were inexpensive and shipped fast. When they arrived I was not surprised, but also not disappointed by how these pants looked. The waistband is elastic, and it had pockets on the sides. Then I tried them on.There's a seam sewn around the lace-up portion, at the top of the calf. This is sewn in normal thread, and doesn't stretch. This meant that I couldn't pull these up past the thickest part of my calves. All isn't completely lost, as I can try to replace that top seam with elastic. Or just find a pair of leggings.
