strange problem - Printer and supplies

The printer I received was pretty easy to set up. However, I recently had a really strange problem. The labels I print don't come out as sharp as I would like and for some reason my laptop had two copies of the printer driver installed and now I have to guess which one is plugged in when I print the label. What's really annoying is when you select copy 1 or the original copy and print (and throw away) 10-15 old labels that didn't print before because they were attached to another copy of the printer for some reason.
