My thoughts on the pros and cons after 1 use are: BENEFITS - keeps your hair dry in the shower and protects your styling from moisture in the bathroom - big enough to fit my huge head and my hair to fit shoulder length (if it helps, my hat size is 7 1/4) - they're reasonably priced and you get 6 of these per order - can't speak to durability (yet) but for less than $1.25 it's worth it per piece. No such nasty chemical smell! (I can't even begin to tell you how important this is to me, I'm VERY sensitive to smell, so I was very pleasantly surprised that these caps don't smell at all.) The design is really cute! My opinion (and the reason I lowered my rating to 4 stars) is comfort. The rubber band sits directly on the skin. I couldn't wear this hat for a long period of time without wearing an elastic band or something underneath. I wore it for about 10-15 minutes while showering and when I took it off I had a red line on my forehead. I tried it for the first time today, so I can't say anything. Durability but I was very surprised at how thin they are. I can't imagine them lasting more than a few months with regular use, but as cheap and effective as they are, I'll take a chance.
