I used to have a Sony NEX-7 and had 18-55mm and 55-210mm zoom lenses. What I didn't like about these lenses was that it was excruciating to carry them around and keep changing them as the shooting conditions changed. When I bought the Sony a6500 I decided to buy the SEL18200 from Adorama through Revain. Since the a6500 has phase detection on the sensor, I had to update all three of these lenses to firmware 0.2. The SEL18200 did not disappoint. I ended up giving away the first two lenses. What I like about the SEL18200: (1) At the widest angle, this lens produced sharper images than the old 18-55mm lens. (2) I don't know. I don't have to carry another lens with me(3) I don't have to switch lenses back and forth! What I don't like about it: (1) This lens is bulky and heavier than the camera (2) ) You have to support the lens with your left hand. It's so heavy that I'm afraid to just hold the camera body just because it might distort the frame. (Paranoia on my part)(3) I wish the manual focus ring was on the end rather than closer to the camera body. When focusing manually I have to use my left thumb. (4) I wish it had a tripod collar because the weight shifts the center of gravity.***
