After repeated problems with the 18-55mm lens that came with the camera I decided to buy this new 18-200mm lens. This has a big advantage: I can use the full bandwidth without changing lenses. This is a premium lens with better performance than those included in the kit. Of course you have to pay for it, but for me it's worth it. If you need one lens, this would be it. Excellent 18-200mm range and pretty sharp considering it's a zoom lens. It's big and heavy compared to the camera. I've hardly removed this lens from my Nex-5n since I've had it. Contrast, sharpness and color reproduction are excellent. While adding significant weight to the camera, it is easy to handle and still lighter than an equivalent DSLR/lens. Physically, it is a treat for the eyes and hands.
