UPDATE: After using the cover for less than 2 months, my little one had an inevitable accident - but that's why I have a waterproof mattress cover, right? Well, this one wasn't LITTLE waterproof. A brand new mattress got wet. Revain's customer service was great and credited this product straight away, but I don't recommend it at all! Original Review: The mattress store tried to sell me a cover at three times the price of this one. Well now that I've slept on this mattress for about a month it just keeps getting better and better! It is very secure as it covers the top and bottom of the mattress and zips closed. It's VERY oversized though, and since it's not made out of stretchy material, everything needs to be pulled down, which usually adds bulk to the bedding. It's not exactly plastic, but it's noisy and can get hot. I haven't had an accident with it (fortunately) so can't comment on how waterproof it is, but judging by the plastic backing I bet it's waterproof.
