Moved to Renault. Didn't watch the video but paid those who were on the i-80 site when we got to Plaserville. I have a broken shoulder and the car is full of girls. Definitely fast forward. We stopped at 89 Hot Spring in Sierraville and along the way we removed the chains as I was tired of only going 30 mph. It started snowing after I left the hot spring and I thought that this would be the most beautiful and mesmerizing while driving, so my companions and I decided to stop and take photos. We live in San Francisco. So, we get back in the car, I press the gas pedal, but nothing happens. We're officially stuck. This is a not very busy road. A couple of trucks drove by and looked at our group. The nice gentleman from the Subaru was nice enough to stop by and help us while we tried to install. He installed the cable in less than 3 minutes per bus and his technique was better than video. He lives in the area so he's used to the snow. We city girls learned how to install and uninstall as it can get expensive after a while and you never know when you'll have to install them. So after 3 days of use in the Sierra/Nevada I can say this product works as advertised. I found that the included tensioner works. There aren't many plastic gloves, you need leather or thick gloves that don't mind getting dirty. I brought pliers, but it wasn't necessary. Since my friends and I aren't professional snow cable users, we thought we'd done a great job once we figured out how to put them on. Removal was easy. If you are not a pro then the help is great. When I got home from the trip I oiled it before storing it as it was already rusting. After all, it's steel and mistreated. Snow, rain and steel don't mix well. I saw other vehicles with chains/cables pass me when I was driving at 30mph (the top speed for those cables) but I didn't want to risk it. And note, just because you have those cables doesn't mean you stop skidding and need a longer stopping distance, so just slow it down. See you next season Ps. I read that someone advises pre-stretching the elastic. While this might seem like a great idea for wimps and lazy people, remember that this is called a peeping-on for a reason.
