Tips do not rattle but are not smooth so they feel like sand against each other. The tip tapers are short so the loops don't go up the tapers to the carbon fiber parts as easily as Knitter's Pride Cubics metal needles. The connections between the tip and the carbon fiber are not always smooth, so most threads get stuck at this point. Carbon fiber is a bit stiff. Offers from this manufacturer are not compatible between products. In this package, the case's metal label has fallen off, the zipper will bind at the ends if left unattended, and the elastics on the loops are so tight and spaced enough that removing the needles from the case can scratch them on the metal zipper teeth . One of the cones had a dent. I had high expectations for this set. I have tried many Knitters Pride/KnitPro needles and Cubic Platina fixed needles or spare needles have proven to be the best for me. For some reason the chrome plating on them is smoother and smoother than the nickel plating on the knit picks.
