Review on Streamline Butter Usage with KitchenArt 32000 ButterMate: White Plastic by Kelly Martinez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great appliance but short lived

This is my favorite kitchen appliance but I'm giving it four stars instead of five because it breaks easily and can't be repaired. It's very easy to use and delivers accurate amounts without any mess or scratching with a knife. However, the wire cutters or the spring on the flap/door can easily break. I was still able to use it after the hinge broke but it's a bit fiddly. If the cable breaks, it is useless. While it annoys me that they break so easily and typically only last about six months, I keep buying them because they are the only oil dispensers that work the way I want them to. I might try One Click next time, but it only seems to dispense a teaspoon at a time and you can't make a large batch for recipes. With butter mate, pop out as much as you like, from a thin plate to a large chunk, before slicing. There's a scale outside that measures how much oil you're dispensing. It's very easy to load, but the oil should be cold, not room temperature. It can be a little tricky to clean, but if you keep the oil cold and don't let it stick to the device, you won't have to clean it every time you load a new wand.

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Embarrassing
