I bought an old house that had all sorts of cables behind the TV except HDMI. I was afraid to fish out a new HDMI above the mantel and fix the drywall. One of the wires I found behind the TV was an old CAT5 cable that hadn't been used. So I put ethernet terminators on the cable and ordered these boxes. I plugged it in and boom, it works right away. Great picture and sound from my cable box and 4K Apple TV. The best part is I was able to move ALL my video components to my basement and control them remotely with Harmony Elite. I sometimes get artifacts/pixelation when watching TV through an Xfinity cable box. It is not so bad. This is probably because I'm not using a CAT5e or CAT6 cable like they recommend. But I'll take it upon myself while I catch a new wire.
