I have used and abused the $25 snakes you get at Home Depot for too long. They snap, rendering them unusable, and it's usually difficult to control cable detachment. This one is much more difficult, and the crank makes the whole process infinitely easier. I've only used it twice but both times the cord pulled to its full length quickly and easily and retracted automatically which is a godsend. I look forward to tackling my next clogged pipe! Well, not really, but at least I know it won't be too hard to deal with.
