It is very well made compared to the cheaper model I recently bought. Constructed from a forged body with stainless steel lifting plate parts, securely assembled and bolted together. The lifting platform protrudes nearly an inch to grip any material you wish to lift and is only 3/16" off the ground for easy getting under material - it has the control to gradually lower material. The cheaper unit I bought earlier was with sheet metal stampings - it had a 3/8" lift platform that was 3/4" off the ground, but the lift handle was lower so you could use it when it was set It ended up being over an inch off the ground, also the carrying capacity was patchy, I had to keep adjusting it, the material setup was a crash landing. I think the viking arm is made as intended, but you have to pay for it.
