My son and I used a jigsaw puzzle board and loved the size (holds up to 1,000 pieces), 2 bins, and smaller mats that hold the jigsaw puzzle together when folded and moved to another location. Smaller rugs can also be used to line the pieces. I felt the pieces didn't slide across the mat as easily when putting the puzzle together, but my son said he had no problem with it and it was better than his current board. I would like a few extra compartments for sorting. Also, if you're using a board, it must be on a hard, flat surface to hold the pieces together.
