Review on Cuisinart WAF 150: A Delectable 4 Slice Belgian Waffle Maker by David Fields

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect every time!

I've had the exact same Cuisinart 4-slice Belgian waffle maker for 20 years and the non-stick surface finally gave out. This new dream is the same as the old one. Light, fluffy waffles every time. We love adding chocolate chips right after pouring the batter. Delicious! I sprayed the Teflon surface with regular cooking spray and preheated the unit by closing it and letting it warm up until the green light came on. To open the device you have to push the safety switch forward and it opens easily. Then I quickly sprayed the top and bottom again with cooking spray and scooped out the dough. (Recipe for omitting the fat. Instead of using butter, I substitute applesauce for the batter.) I dropped a few drops of chocolate into the batter on the bottom and closed the lid until I heard a click. I set the heat cycle just above the recommended mark because I like pretty brown waffles. You have a chance to cook more evenly if you brown them more. When the green light came on, they were beautiful! You can never go wrong with Cuisinart. They make quality products that will last you for years. I no longer buy any other brand of kitchen appliances.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
