More than I expected, yet powerful.

If you are looking for a workhorse waffle maker then this is it. Get ready, it's HUGE. This means I have to make double batches of batter to get one batch of waffles. The grooves hold about two cups of batter for EACH "pan" or whatever (one pan equals four waffles). The waffles are really thick. If you love it, that's great. If you prefer thinner ones, this waffle maker may be too hard for you. The temperature is great. My only real complaint is that like my last Cuisinart waffle maker, which I

Perfect every time!

I've had the exact same Cuisinart 4-slice Belgian waffle maker for 20 years and the non-stick surface finally gave out. This new dream is the same as the old one. Light, fluffy waffles every time. We love adding chocolate chips right after pouring the batter. Delicious! I sprayed the Teflon surface with regular cooking spray and preheated the unit by closing it and letting it warm up until the green light came on. To open the device you have to push the safety switch forward and it opens…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Great home appliance at a reasonable price

This is a fairly good value waffle maker that gives you about what you would expect from a non tipping waffle maker. For most people complaining about the waffle maker not heating from the top, I suspect they are not following the preheat instructions. If you put the batter in too soon, the entire top shelf won't have reached the right temperature and the cold batter will really cool it down and give it an uneven browning. Allow to continue heating for at least 2-3 minutes AFTER the light turns

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
