If you are looking for a workhorse waffle maker then this is it. Get ready, it's HUGE. This means I have to make double batches of batter to get one batch of waffles. This is a fairly good value waffle maker that gives you about what you would expect from a non tipping waffle maker. For most people complaining about the waffle maker not heating from the top, I suspect they are not following the preheat instructions. If you put the batter in too soon, the entire top shelf won't have reached the right temperature and the cold batter will really cool it down and give it an uneven browning.
