Review on Panasonic 35-100mm f/2.8 II ASPH lens. O.I.S. Lumix G X Vario (H-HSA35100) by Chu Mei Hua ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for money, one of the best offers.

I shoot more videos, so I took the second version, although it is more expensive. For a long time I was looking for a "beautiful" lens to replace the Canon 70-200mm / 2,8L II, which is beautiful, but very heavy for travel. I tried on different watering cans and fixes, but everything was expensive and I didn’t really like it. I accidentally stumbled upon this lens in tests, I was surprised by the high technical ratings. This version II is improved for video but looks cheaper and simpler on the outside. There were doubts before the first photo. I fell in love with the picture right away.

Pros
  • Nice drawing, that's what made me happy. Excellent geometry, no distortion. High sharpness right from open 2.8 and constant aperture. Light weight, compact and weatherproof. Fast and silent focus
Cons
  • The focus is not stable (perhaps it is to the camera, not to the lens), it jumps back and forth, jumps to the background in photos and videos. I did not like the size of the filter, "non-standard" 58mm, because of this, when the lens hood is on, it is inconvenient to insert the cover into the "deep well" No AF / MF button - perhaps it is not needed, but unusual
