I ordered this ink shortly after receiving my new Canon printer. I decided that I would need black fillers soon. The original black ink was a smaller version and it lasted a couple of weeks and then we were gone. This new ink fits the old cartridge exactly. In the two pictures I've attached, you can see the new one on the left and the old one on the right. The printer recognized the ink immediately and was ready to print. I was concerned about the age of the ink as the one I received was just past the year I received this. This didn't turn out to be a problem. The other image I've attached is the new ink level after installing and printing two coloring pages. It hasn't changed much from where it was after installation. Neither Canon ink nor this ink shows as full when first installed. These inks will definitely last a while and will save you some money in the long run.
