Nice looking rod. BUT potentially dangerous in case of malfunction!

I really like this product. The workmanship and appearance of the cranks are very good. However, the set I received had a serious problem. When riding easy trails, the crank fell off twice. I re-tightened the two screws holding the lever, but last week it fell off again. When I installed the crank I used bottom bracket spacers. However, since the shims were installed, the spindle/hollow crankshaft did not fit snugly into the arm, so I removed all shims and retorqued all fasteners. Unfortunately, with repeated cycling, the arm fell off even after the crank was fully seated on the spindle/crank axle and the hardware was tightened. I think it's just a broken handle. It is also possible that the crankshaft/spindle is too small in diameter to engage firmly with the crank. I think I just got a bad kit, it's very important to have a crank that doesn't fail once it's fitted. The trail I rode last week was 6 miles from my car and I had to rely on a friendly fellow biker who loaned me an Allen wrench to tighten my loose grip.
