First of all, after many unsuccessful amateur searches and fixes, I was ready to get this HD back (or bang it against the wall). attempts to reformat. Your hard drive should now appear on your desktop and you can delete files. Now that it's reformatted, it works as expected. Some oil on your hands will change the color of your HD.)
