This was my first time ordering a multi colored hat for my 3 year old and I love it. So I went back to order two more because I expect to be chasing them all winter. I ordered the black and ivory combo which is intended for toddlers, not for kids who are too small! That explains the difference in reviews, some say the size is ok while others say it runs small. Apparently it depends on what color you order, but there is nothing to indicate what size each is. So when you get the right hat this is a great product. If you get one that's a completely different size, it's not. I ordered another single cap and crossed my fingers that it was the same size as the multicolored one.
