I bought this dish rack for my daughters in college. They have limited counter space and this shelf fits perfectly into the space they have. It is very light and easy to assemble. Removable trays are a handy feature. They keep the counters dry and there is a tray on each tier to keep water from dripping onto the dishes below. I have found that the smaller bowls (4 1/2 inch diameter) fit the bottom shelf much better than my standard sized soup bowl. The smaller bowl stands up to drain the water while my soup bowl has to rest on top of each other for support. Stand. I like the hooks on the side of the dish rack. They can be used to hang measuring cups and spoons, and there is another removable tray at the bottom to catch water as it dries. The shelf is the perfect size for small households, but if you have a large family I don't think it would be big enough to fit extra dishes.
