Review on 💡 EZDIY-FAB 120mm RGB PWM Case Fan with RGB PWM Fan Hub, 5V Motherboard Sync, ARGB Computer Fan - 5 Pack by Ricardo Anderson

Ok, I'm a seasoned PC tech, but I don't have much experience with RGB lighting in modern PCs. This is the THIRD set of RGB fans I have purchased for this new build. The first ones were incorrectly advertised as compatible with Aura Sync (my motherboard is ASUS), they were only partially compatible. They turned on, glowed, and sometimes changed color. sent back because they didn't match the ad. The second set was worse than the first set. (A different brand this time.) This set also came with one of the hubs/controllers and was semi-functional as all 9 fans were running on the same controller box (it had 9 ports). Static colors work but do not change color patterns. So I pulled 6 of these out of a box thinking it was voltage related and just put 3 on top of each of the boxes. One box blinked for 10 minutes and then went off completely. The third box worked perfectly. BUT while fiddling around and trying to get the second flicker to work, I noticed a strange smell. In total, about 5 minutes have passed since the connection. Within ONE minute of feeling something strange, SMOKE came out of one of the wires in the third box and the wires melted. Obviously a quality control issue, the wires got mixed up and shorted out somewhere. Luckily my computer was not damaged. So they were all sent back as defective. The third set costs more and looks like better fans. May be. That's the set I'm looking at. 1) Very easy setup. The instructions were actually clear with no silly grammatical errors (most likely due to poor translation from any source language). 2) EVERY function is as advertised and works perfectly. 3) AURA SYNC not only works as it should, it works flawlessly. Finally happy with the purchase.
