My ALT died on my 08 wing with 60.00 miles. did the job myself and saved $600, but after this episode I need a volt meter. I had just returned from a trip to New Jersey from Asheville, NC, and the bike stalled three miles after returning. Never again will I ride this bike without a volt meter. Some people don't like LEDs and want a digital readout or dial indicator. I love the LEDs, I know 2 green LEDs mean all systems are working. One green is good, but there should be 2. Yellow means you will check the system very soon. Red means you are about to lose power. All of this at a glance instead of trying to read the dial. The digital display is good but they seem to be short lived. I like mounting this on the frame next to the VIN above the fork tunnel because it's dark there and you can see it just by looking down but not at your face as some have complained that the brightness is distracting.
