I bought this unit to replace a cheaper unit I bought at my local outdoor gear store. It's a little pricey but worth it. There's a belt clip on the carrying case, I'm not entirely sure of that, but it's useful for protecting the device from unnecessary damage. If you ice fish, you need one of these. ****** ********************* After using this unit for several seasons I am no longer thrilled with its reliability. Often the device will drain after finding the bottom. (Forget scanning through ice.) I changed the battery and the results are the same. The clip eventually broke through no fault of my own. He just fell off. I still recommend all ice fishermen to have it in their backpack but bring back its original 5 star rating and give it a 3 star rating.
