It's hard to admire a socket extender, but this device is very effective. It's basically a standard outlet expander with additional USB ports (which is nice) and a top-mounted shelf. The shelf is what I was looking for and it works great. I use this in my RV because there is no table next to my wife's bed. She always struggles to find a place to charge her cell phone at night. Although there is an outlet about a foot and a half above the bed and that's where I installed it and solved the problem. The integrated USB port means she doesn't have to hang her charger around and is great for charging her phone. RV sockets don't have a center screw like household sockets so I can't tighten them but I just rode some really rough roads and it didn't come out so no problem. Sometimes the little things in life make all the difference!
