Review on Melissa & Doug Seaside Sidekicks Baking Kit by Josel Lambert

A favorite of Melissa and Doug's seaside sets

Just received today and my girls immediately played with it in the bath as we won't be at the beach until next week. A very cute set. Thick durable plastic in a beautiful color. I really like that everything fits nicely in the bucket and there's room to add a few extra things. The little turtle lid is a sieve. This was a favorite of the Melissa and Dough Seaside sets that I bought for my girls. I also have an ice cream set, a cupcake set and an hourglass. All of these sets go well together. Updated 12/01/12. We bought three Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Seaside Sets: the Speck Seahorse Sand Ice Cream Set, the Sidekicks Sand Baking Set, and the Sidekicks Sandy Patch Baking Set for our three week vacation in the Pacific Northwest. Children played with them on the beach and/or in the bathroom almost every day. Excellent quality. No broken parts throughout the trip or since we got home. Lots of creative play options. I was able to fit the ice cream set pieces into the cookie set bucket and store all the smaller pieces from all three sets along with the cupcake pan that comes with the cupcake set. The end result was that I was able to get all three sets and a whole handful of playware (plates, cups, utensils) that I completely transferred to a bucket and net. VERY convenient to store in your car and carry to/from the beach. If you were to pick just ONE I would recommend this baking set as its pieces have proven to be the most versatile as are the ones my girls have played with the most. But all three sets complement each other well. I think these toys are a bit overpriced and should be around or close to $10 so I gave them 4 stars instead of 5.

Pros
