I used the box to install a high beam sensor to illuminate the parking lot. Hard plastic and a pretty good seal, although there's no gasket (more like a lip and groove). Just the right size and no open holes to start with. The holes for the rear mounting screws are plugged with plastic plugs for sealing after assembly. They are not very tight, but should protect against water. Exactly what I needed. I used a Nineleaf cable entry nut on the bottom cut out and had to tape the cable around to get a good seal. never mind
