Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great results with a slim subwoofer

I've waited a year to write this review to be fair in my rating and also to be able to speak about the durability of the product. I installed this subwoofer in a Jeep Wrangler and hooked it up to a 5 channel Rockford amp that also drives four 6.5 channel amps. I didn't want to take up a lot of cargo space with a huge box, and I just wanted to round the bottom; I listen to a lot of classic rock and reggae so I wasn't planning on shaking the windows as only about 10% of what I play is in the rap or hip hop genre. I wasn't initially thrilled with this sub - the first few weeks gave me mediocre performance at best, and I also experimented with heavy R&B bass just to see how it would perform. On R&B it produced a dull, thumping sound, and on classic rock it really didn't sound very good when loud enough to make a difference. But over the next month it started to sound more musical than loud and after about 3 months of moderate use I'm very happy with it. Again, I wasn't looking for club quality bass, I just wanted to add some depth. That being said, now it also works really well when I turn on rap or hip-hop. Not a competitive sub by any means, but I have to tone down the bass for these genres. With the jeep's doors and roof off, I turn up the bass control a bit and the sound is great, even in the wind. Bottom line, this subwoofer is a solid choice for those looking to add some nice tone to the lower end of the spectrum. It takes up surprisingly little space for a 10-inch screen, and I think it's a steal at this price point. The construction of the box itself is also very solid; They've thrown exercise equipment, lawn equipment and the like on it, put it on top of it, covered it up, and a year later it's no worse than the day I got it. If you give it time to work, you will be happy.
