Review on Scotch Exterior Painter's Tape for Surfaces, 1.88in x 45yds, 2097, Single Roll by Jeremy Meza

Revainrating 1 out of 5

$3 more than 7 months ago, $2 more than 5 months ago = $5 increase in less than a year.

Edited again after I had to stock up on a few cases of this tape. The price has almost doubled in just over a year, which would have added about $500 to my total for this order. (Spoiler alert, this isn't going to happen). This latest increase is $3 per roll more than last August, and the price per roll in August was $2 more than 5 months earlier. I have checked this in my order history to see exact dates and prices. My Opinion: This is a 5 star band for the price of 1 star. I'm fully aware that after the year we've had everything is getting more expensive, but I can't double my prices, can I? Everything written below is from previous reviews. I hope this helps some of you. Edited again to indicate that this rating is for the 1.88 yellow 2097 and not the blue 1.41 (which is not good). I have been painting for over 30 years, have been a licensed painting contractor for over 20 years and am always looking for ways to increase productivity without sacrificing quality. This may sound silly to some, but good tape is not only measured by how well it works when applied, but also by how easy it is to remove. I've tried pretty much every tape out there and I have a few favorites for certain uses, but if I could only use one tape for the rest of my painting career, this is the one I'd happily use. It constantly peels off at a 90° angle, lies flat, adheres well, is leak-proof and can be removed very easily. To clarify one of their peel strength claims, they must mean in-use peel strength (which it was). However, any color on this tape tends to chip in the open air, at least when applied with a brush or roller. It's as close as I could find to some sort of bug that I wouldn't even consider a real bug. Overall I am absolutely delighted with the quality of this volume and will most likely buy a few thousand rolls before I retire. Edit: The price has gone up almost $2 per roll since the original review 5 months ago. That might not matter to those who only buy a few rolls every now and then, but for those of us who average a hundred rolls a month, it adds up. Now I'm deducting 1 star until the price is down to one acceptable level falls. The 1 star deduction is purely for the price and not for the performance. It's an excellent band, but there's no reason for such a dramatic price increase in such a short space of time.
