I use this to show documents to people attending face-to-face meetings, and the signal I send there includes audio coming from the microphones in the room. Of course, to avoid feedback, I lower the volume of all monitors in the room to 0 (usually 3 monitors in a room). This seems to go back to 30 (from 100) by itself without pressing a button. I turn it down to 0 then after a few minutes it goes back down to 30 and we hear a high low ring coming out of it. I'm not sure if the seesaw picks up phantom pulses or something like that. It's weird that it seems to reach 30, so it doesn't seem random to me. To work around the issue, I plug a 3.5mm extension cable into the 3.5mm port and the monitor mistakes it for headphones and mutes the speaker. .
