Review on Portable Monitor KOGODA Travel Speakers 15.6", 1920X1080P, 60Hz, High Dynamic Range, Z1-5S, HDMI by Rick Hunt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Price per pixel, excellent!

When I received the screen I was very impressed with the packaging. I was also concerned that the screen wasn't in the package as the package was very light. However, when I opened the box, to my surprise there was a screen, some cables, a screen protector and a "wart on the wall". After applying the protective film with wipes and application tool, I was ready to try it out. . By the way, the bubbles will kill you, and if you're a possessed person, you'll spend quite a bit of time trying to get all the bubbles out. I wasn't that committed and I still have a few blisters. I applied power to the panel, which lit up immediately and appeared to come out of the box with decent clarity. I then experimented with the OSD, which proved easy to use and navigate. After being satisfied with the functionality of the OSD, I proceeded to connect the HDMI interface to it. I unplugged my 30 inch computer screen and plugged in this new lightweight dynamo. I used HDMI and found that the color reproduction and clarity far outweighed the price. No, this is not a replacement for a big screen; however, is a great addition for one. I typically have five connected displays ranging in resolution from 4K to 1080p. This display easily fits my viewing space and displays images perfectly on other displays. I'm not a gamer so I can imagine how amazing the picture is. gaming, but I can tell you that I edit photos and video, and while I wouldn't rely on color for printing, the colors are great for gauges and other areas of text that are typically rendered. And then, much to my amazement, when I plugged in my Android Note 8, a full DeX desktop appeared on the display. I've tried other DeX displays but was frustrated with their capabilities. But here I was with a smartphone and a light panel, now able to edit documents, surf the web, and actually use the phone as a lightweight computer. What impressed me the most was that everything just "works". I didn't have to fiddle with anything, I didn't have to change any settings, I just plugged in my phone and the DeX desktop came up and I can work just fine. I use Sensel to interact with my phone. DeX had no problems with this, and both the mouse and keyboard work perfectly. While not a feature of the screen, the screen allows someone to use their device as a makeshift laptop when away from their main computer. I was able to connect each of my cakes directly to the device and it just worked. The screen display was phenomenal and the screen refresh was more than enough to keep up with what I'm doing on the PI. But this is where it gets incredibly interesting. I have a Sony 3D camera and I connected the camera's HDMI output directly to the screen. It came alive and displayed images perfectly. Although it's not a 3D screen, it offers a great view of what the camera is seeing and therefore makes my wife happy as she can constantly nag me about how to put an image together. So I guess it's both a bonus and a curse! As for the sound, I'm not the kind of person who can tell you anything about it. I am a disabled veteran and hearing is one of my problems. It seems to be a decent sound; However, I wouldn't bother telling you if this soundscreen is worth buying. The included audio jack works and delivers a decent sound. So you need sound on the screen. This panel has what you are looking for. While I gave the display a five overall rating, I wanted to take out a few breaking points for minor issues. First, in today's world of screens, "touch" is key. I was annoyed by the inability to touch anyone. When images from the Raspberry PI were displayed, I kept trying to move the mouse across the screen with my finger. I know it's a screen for gaming and using an external monitor; However, it would be great to have a touchscreen for loading. Although the number of entrances was ok, I would have liked at least one more entrance and the option to take picture in picture. I know it's not marketed that way, but in today's world they're so common on monitors that a panel display with that capability would be ideal. Another use case I considered for the screen due to its clarity and brightness was using several of them in a "photo wall". However, since I can buy a 53-inch TV for less than $100 these days, using these panels wouldn't be profitable. I think panels would be great and I have a son who is creating an immersive environment for an art show in San Diego which I believe will use multiple screens to help the audience on their journey. Overall, this screen was worth the money spent. I can't stress enough how light and bright the screen is. Since you have a 30-day money-back guarantee, I strongly encourage you (the reader) to get a screen and try it out. In about 30 days I will post another review (more of an update) on how the screen works. manages to fit into my hectic everyday life.
