I don't normally write reviews but this disc lock is so annoying that I feel the need to warn potential buyers. Let me start with the good and then move on to the annoying and slightly annoying details. Pros: The disc lock looks good, is solidly built and gives me a secure bike feeling. I even had a former biker ask me what that was. After explaining it to him, he figured his bike wouldn't have been stolen if he had one of these. It's also quite noisy. While it's true that you can cover it up to muffle most of the noise, it will definitely turn off the people who sit on your bike and pretend they're as cool as you. . Let me get this straight: it does NOT cock when the pin is fully inserted, it cocks once the barrel is pushed in a little. Let me repeat: THE ALARM WILL GO ON, EVEN THE PIN CODE IS NOT BLOCKED. I've lost count of the number of times the lock in my jacket pocket and backpack has worked. I even had to stop to disarm it because it started ringing in my backpack while driving. A few times he called the coffee shop so I had to run outside to disarm him. But here's the best part, not only does it activate before the pin is locked, sometimes the key is hard to insert. How does that relate, you ask? Let me explain my dear driver: the alarm will beep once to indicate it's armed while you're still fumbling to put the key in there. So now you have 5 seconds to lock the pin and attach the reminder cord to the clutch before it starts beeping. If you're lucky, the reminder cord will stop vibrating before the alarm goes off. Good luck using it with your bike case. Last but not least, the key is so clunky. While the metal itself is fit for an alarm clock, the plastic part is ridiculous. TL; DR: If you're a masochist who likes your alarm clock to ring randomly and doesn't mind being embarrassed in public, this disc lock is for you.
