I bought this to use with my old Drobo DRO4D-D 4-Bay 16TB Array and connected it via USB 2 to a USB Type-C/Thunderbolt port on a new Mac mini 2018 cable didn't work as a mass storage device on Drobo because it doesn't recognize it, so again I used a standard USB B to USB 2.0 cable. This Fasgear cable worked great with my old Canon Lide 35 scanner as well as my old Gdrive G-Tech. That means there was something he didn't like about Drobo. I went to Fry's and bought their cheapest Type-C to USB-B cable and it seems to work with Drobo and Mac Mini so it's connected to the cable somehow. If it worked like any other USB cable I would give it 5 stars.
